Established in August 2021, the Arunachal Pradesh Innovation & Investment Park (APIIP) is the first state owned marquee incubator initiated as a pivotal pillar of the Arunachal Pradesh Startup Policy. APIIP is working with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) as its knowledge partner, with a Mission to develop a culture of entrepreneurship in Arunachal Pradesh and to transform the State into a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship by providing holistic support to local startups through proactive policy intervention and creation of a network of key ecosystem stakeholders.
Arunachal Pradesh Innovation & Investment Park (APIIP) is the first-of-its kind facility in Arunachal Pradesh that was established on 14th August 2021 to offer working infrastructure to startups, including co-working spaces, meeting room for investors, multi-purpose conference hall, classroom and mentor’s room, office area and separate spaces for consultants and incubation team.

Arunachal Pradesh has been adjudged as a ‘LEADER’ among category B States in its maiden participation in the ‘States' Start-up Ranking 2021’ organized by Government of India’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
METRU, a promising startup from Changlang is actively promoting indigenous female artisans from the North East. Launched during the pandemic by five women entrepreneurs, it has today blossomed into a one-stop shop for handcrafted earrings, tribal jewelry, handloom garments and hair accessories.
APIIP brought together three promising startups - Soko Yaya from Arunachal which is a pottery studio, METRU from Arunachal which is making locally handcrafted accessories and Blossom Tura from Meghalaya, which is into making gift-hampers. The business synergies between these three startups has resulted in cross-selling of their products, with increased customer base.
The Wakro initiative has been successful in weaning families from engaging in opium cultivation and aligning them to tea cultivation in the remote village of Wakro in Lohit district, which was severely affected by the destructive and addicting cultivation of opium. It is a perfect example of mainstreaming people, hooked onto narcotics, and facilitating them with an alternative means of livelihood.
Dukandada is the first mobile application-based delivery service for FMCG from Arunachal Pradesh. The product portfolio includes groceries, agro-based food items, other stationeries, etc. With an effective promotion strategy, Dukandada has become a household name, currently operating out of Itanagar. Its USP lies in assured quick delivery at the doorstep, in most cases delivery on the same day.
